5. Scribe Agent Instructions

5.1 Overview

The Scribe Agent provides real-time clinical documentation support through audio transcription and structured note generation. It captures patient consultations, transcribes speech to text, and generates structured clinical notes in SOAP format.

5.2 Getting Started

  1. Navigate to Scribe Agent from the main dashboard
  2. Grant microphone permissions when prompted by your browser
  3. Test audio recording to confirm microphone is working
  4. Configure default template preferences (optional)
  5. Connect EHR integration if required (see Section 6)

5.3 Recording a Consultation

Start New Session

  1. Click "New Session" or press keyboard shortcut (Ctrl+N / Cmd+N)
  2. Select or search for patient (optional — can link later)
  3. Choose consultation template (e.g., General Consultation, Follow-up, Assessment)
  4. Review audio input device in settings if needed

Begin Recording

  1. Click the red "Record" button or press spacebar

During Recording

5.4 Reviewing Transcripts

Clinical coding suggestions are AI-generated and must be verified by a qualified healthcare professional before use for billing, reporting, or clinical documentation purposes.

5.7 Reviewing and Approving Notes

Mandatory Review Process:

  1. Read generated note completely
  2. Verify clinical accuracy against your consultation knowledge
  3. Correct any errors or inaccuracies
  4. Ensure patient safety information is complete
  5. Confirm appropriate clinical codes
  6. Click "Approve Note" to finalise
