Lyrebird Health Alternatives in the UK (2026): 5 AI Scribes Compared

The main Lyrebird Health alternatives in the UK are Motics (our product), Heidi, Tandem, and for NHS GP practices Accurx Scribe and Anima. Most people look elsewhere because Lyrebird lists no UK PMS integration. For UK private clinics, Motics is the strongest alternative because it files physio-first notes into Cliniko, Nookal and Meddbase, keeps data in the UK and prices by shared credits from £19 a month.

What Lyrebird Health is

Lyrebird stores UK data in the UK, is registered with the MHRA as a Class I medical device, is Cyber Essentials Plus certified and says data is never used to train AI. It offers part-time discounts of up to 50% and a free plan with 50 actions a month. Its UK site positions it for NHS trusts, GPs and specialists.

Three reasons UK clinicians look elsewhere

  • No UK system integration. Lyrebird's UK integrations page doesn't list Cliniko, Nookal, Meddbase, TM3, Semble, WriteUpp, EMIS or SystmOne.
  • Two published prices. Its UK pricing page and help centre give different Pro prices (£50 vs £59 a month, £450 vs £480 a year).
  • Integrations built for other markets. The systems its UK integrations page does list are Best Practice and Gentu (Australian) and the hospital EHRs Epic, Oracle Health and Meditech.

Which Motics plan fits

  • Free (£0): 25 credits a month for Scribe and Chat, around 1 Scribe note or 10 chats a day. No card required.
  • Starter (£19 a month): 110 credits for a solo clinician, around 5 Scribe notes or 50 chats a day. No contract.
  • Team (from £98 a month: £49 per clinician, minimum two): 352 credits per clinician in one shared clinic pool, unlimited users, and the Phone, Email and Billing agents.
  • Scale (from £290 a month: £145 per clinician, minimum two): 1,320 credits per clinician, plus the Audit agent and compliance workflows, clinic usage analytics, priority support and guided onboarding.
  • Enterprise (custom pricing): for multi-site groups that need SSO, advanced roles and a procurement and security review.

What the comparison shows: Lyrebird lists no UK PMS integration; Motics files notes into Cliniko, Nookal and Meddbase and, like Lyrebird, stores data in the UK with an MHRA Class I scribe. One shared credit pool covers Scribe, Phone, Email and Billing, with unlimited users on Team and Scale, so there are no per-seat fees for part-time associates. Try it on the free plan, or estimate your clinic's cost on the pricing page.

Motics Scribe Agent

That’s us
Best for
UK private and allied-health clinics leaving Lyrebird because they want notes filed into Cliniko, Nookal or Meddbase
Pricing
Free (25 credits/month), Starter £19/month (110 credits), Team from £98/month (£49 per clinician, minimum two; 352 credits each), Scale from £290/month (£145 per clinician, minimum two). About 1 credit per Scribe note. Ex VAT; 15% off annually.

Motics is a UK-built clinic AI suite. The Scribe Agent drafts SOAP notes, treatment plans, referral letters and patient summaries from ambient capture or dictation, with physio-first templates covering objective measures and exercise prescription, and files them into Cliniko, Nookal or Meddbase after clinician review. The same credit pool runs the Phone Agent (AI receptionist), Email and Billing agents, and on Scale an Audit agent that reviews clinical notes for quality and CQC readiness.

Pricing is credit-based: about 1 credit per note, a free plan with 25 credits a month, Starter at £19 a month for a solo clinician, and Team from £98 a month (£49 per clinician, minimum two) with unlimited users sharing one pool. Patient data stays in the UK, audio is deleted within 48 hours, the Scribe Agent is MHRA-registered as a Class I medical device, and patient data is not used to train AI models.

Disclosure: Motics is our product and this page lives on our site. Every competitor fact is taken from the competitor's own website or help centre, read on 10 October 2026, and anything we couldn't find there is marked "not published" rather than guessed.

  • Same pool covers AI receptionist, email, billing and (on Scale) documentation audit
  • UK data residency, audio deleted within 48 hours, MHRA Class I, DTAC-assessed

Limitations

  • No EMIS or SystmOne integration, so it isn't built for NHS GP practices
  • Three PMS integrations today; TM3, Semble, WriteUpp and Jane need copy-paste
  • No in-consult clinical evidence or coding assistant

Positioned for
Clinicians in NHS and European settings, including EMIS, SystmOne and Semble users, looking for a Class IIa CE-marked scribe with a free tier
Pricing
Free tier; Pro £59 per user/month billed yearly or £69 monthly; Enterprise tailored. VAT not published. Read from tandemhealth.ai/product/pricing, 10 Oct 2026.

Tandem Health is a Swedish AI medical scribe (Tandem Health AB) with solution pages for medicine, mental health, nursing, physiotherapy, dentistry, pharmacy and social services. The free plan includes unlimited note generation, up to two custom templates and up to two co-workers; Pro adds more templates and Pro Actions. It also offers a coding assistant, clinical decision support and dictation, and it powers Accurx Scribe for NHS practices.

Its listed certifications are ISO 27001 and ISO 13485, UK Cyber Essentials Plus, NHS DSPT, and CE marking as a Class IIa medical device under EU MDR. Data is processed and stored exclusively in European data centres rather than in the UK. UK integrations listed include EMIS Web, SystmOne, Semble, Accurx and iaptus; Cliniko, Nookal, Meddbase, TM3, Jane and WriteUpp aren't listed.

Accurx Scribe is Accurx's ambient scribe for general practice and secondary care, built on Tandem's technology. It saves notes to EMIS and SystmOne with one click and is priced per registered patient per year with unlimited scribes, so a practice pays by list size rather than by clinician.

Accurx's company security page says it holds ISO 27001 certification, Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus, is DSPT assured, and hosts servers in Microsoft Azure's London data centre. These are company-wide statements rather than Scribe-specific ones. Accurx doesn't describe a route for private clinics without a registered patient list.

How we chose

Every fact about Lyrebird, Heidi, Tandem, Accurx and Anima on this page was read from that vendor's own website, pricing page, help centre or vendor-supplied marketplace listing on 10 October 2026; the sources list below links each page. Where a vendor doesn't publish something (a price, VAT treatment, a certification, where data is hosted), we say "not published" instead of estimating it. Prices are quoted as the vendor states them; we haven't converted other currencies. Motics prices come from our own pricing page and are ex VAT.

Motics is our product. Each product gets a review card listing its features and limitations. Vendors change prices and features, so check their pages before you buy. If you spot anything inaccurate, contact us and we'll correct it. Product names are trademarks of their owners; Motics is not affiliated with or endorsed by any vendor named here.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best Lyrebird alternative in the UK?

For UK private and allied-health clinics, Motics. It files notes into Cliniko, Nookal and Meddbase, stores data in the UK, is MHRA Class I like Lyrebird, and is priced by a shared credit pool from £19 a month. Accurx Scribe and Anima are built for NHS GP practices on EMIS and SystmOne.

Does Lyrebird integrate with Cliniko?

Lyrebird's UK integrations page doesn't list Cliniko, or any other UK private-practice PMS or GP system. Motics files into Cliniko, Nookal and Meddbase; Heidi lists Cliniko on its Practice and Enterprise plans.

How much does Lyrebird cost compared with alternatives?

Lyrebird Pro is £50 per user a month on its UK pricing page or £59 in its help centre. Other published prices on 10 October 2026: Motics Starter £19 a month and Team from £98 a month ex VAT (£49 per clinician, minimum two), with unlimited users sharing one credit pool; Heidi Scribe Plus £45 and Clinician £55 per user a month billed annually; Tandem Pro £59 billed yearly. Accurx Scribe is £0.40 to £0.50 per registered patient per year for GP practices. Per-seat and credit pricing work differently, so estimate your clinic's cost on the pricing page.

Which alternatives store data in the UK like Lyrebird?

Motics (UK data residency) and Heidi (locally hosted within the UK) both host in the UK. Accurx says its servers are in Microsoft Azure's London data centre. Tandem stores data in European data centres, and Anima doesn't publish a hosting location.

Is there a free alternative to Lyrebird?

Motics has a free plan with 25 credits a month for Scribe and Chat (around one note a day), no card required. Heidi has a free tier and Tandem a free plan with unlimited note generation. Lyrebird's own free plan gives 50 actions a month without integrations.

Which Lyrebird alternatives are MHRA-registered medical devices?

Motics and Anima say their scribes are MHRA Class I, the same as Lyrebird. Tandem states Class IIa under EU MDR. Heidi's UK compliance page doesn't state a device class.

When does switching from Lyrebird make sense?

Switching makes sense if you want notes filed into your PMS rather than copied, your team includes part-time associates who would each need a seat, or you want phones, email and billing on the same plan. Motics covers all three and keeps the UK data storage and MHRA Class I status you have with Lyrebird. Export any letters or documents stored only in Lyrebird before you cancel.
