Aeva is an AI receptionist for allied-health clinics, priced by calls per month: £139 for 100 calls up to £399 for 500, with outbound calls and web chat included. Motics is a UK clinic AI suite whose Phone Agent draws credits from a pool shared with notes, email and billing. For UK private clinics, Motics is the stronger fit: patient data is stored in the UK, it books into Cliniko, Nookal and Meddbase, and one plan covers phones and notes.
Motics vs Aeva at a glance
Motics Phone Agent
Aeva AI
What it is
AI receptionist inside a clinic AI suite (Scribe, Phone, Email, Billing, Audit)
AI receptionist with outbound calls and web chat
Published GBP pricing
Team from £98/month ex VAT (£49 per clinician, minimum two); calls 3 credits a minute
Aeva is built around the front desk: it answers 24/7, books, reschedules and cancels in your PMS with an SMS confirmation, recognises returning patients, handles overflow with warm transfers or messages, escalates emergencies, takes deposits, makes outbound rebooking calls and runs web chat. It says it's trusted by over 500 clinics across Australia and the UK. Motics' Phone Agent handles the core call tasks (answering, booking, summaries, transfers, urgent alerts) and sits inside a suite that also writes clinical notes and handles patient email and billing.
How the pricing compares
Aeva prices by call volume, so a 200-call month is £199 whether calls last one minute or ten, and overage is £1.70 a call. Motics doesn't charge per call. Calls draw 3 credits a minute from the clinic's shared pool. On list prices a credit costs about 11p to 14p (Team £49 per clinician buys 352 credits, Scale £145 per clinician buys 1,320, extra credits £0.13 to £0.14), which works out at roughly 33p to 42p per call minute billed monthly, and less with the 15% annual discount. At Aeva's tiers a call costs about 80p to £1.39 within the allowance, the same as roughly two to four minutes of Motics time. If most of your calls are short bookings, Motics is likely to cost less per call, and the credits you don't spend on phones go to notes, email and billing.
The data location question
UK clinics should ask every vendor where call audio and transcripts are processed. Aeva's published answers point in two directions: its Cliniko listing says data is stored on encrypted servers in Australia, while its own privacy policy, updated 22 June 2026, says data processing occurs primarily in US cloud environments, with call recordings stored in Microsoft Azure, AI processing by Anthropic and OpenAI, and recordings deleted when the subscription is cancelled. Neither location is necessarily a problem under UK GDPR with the right transfer safeguards, but you need one clear answer for your DPIA. Motics stores patient data in the UK.
Which Motics plan fits
Free (£0): 25 credits a month for Scribe and Chat, no card required, around 1 Scribe note or 10 chats a day. The way to try Motics for clinical notes before you add the phones.
Starter (£19 a month ex VAT): 110 credits for a solo clinician, around 5 Scribe notes or 50 chats a day, no contract. Scribe and Chat only.
Team (from £98 a month ex VAT: £49 per clinician, minimum two): the plan where the Phone Agent starts. 352 credits per clinician, plus the Email and Billing agents, unlimited users and one shared clinic credit pool. Calls use 3 credits a minute.
Scale (from £290 a month ex VAT: £145 per clinician, minimum two): 1,320 credits per clinician for busier clinics, plus the Audit agent and compliance workflows, clinic usage analytics, priority support and guided onboarding.
Enterprise (custom): for multi-site groups, with SSO and advanced roles, and procurement and security review.
What the comparison shows: Motics gives a UK clinic one clear answer on data location: patient data is stored in the UK. It books into Cliniko, Nookal and Meddbase, and one credit pool covers Scribe, Phone, Email and Billing, with unlimited users on Team and Scale and no per-seat fees. Start on the free plan for notes, then size a Team pool for your call volume with the calculator on the pricing page.

Motics Phone Agent
That’s us
Best for
UK private and allied-health clinics that want UK-hosted call data and one plan for phones, notes, email and billing
Pricing
Phone Agent from Team: from £98/month ex VAT (£49 per clinician, minimum two). Calls use 3 credits a minute from a shared pool; extra usage at £0.14 a credit (about 42p a minute) on Team.
Motics is a UK-built clinic AI suite. The Phone Agent answers calls 24/7 on your existing number, books into your diary in Cliniko, Nookal or Meddbase, summarises every call, transfers complex calls to your team and alerts you to urgent ones. The same plan and credit pool also run the Scribe Agent (clinical notes), Email and Billing agents, and on Scale the Audit agent that reviews clinical notes for quality and CQC readiness.
Pricing is credit-based rather than per call: the Phone Agent comes with the Team plan (from £98 a month ex VAT: £49 per clinician, minimum two, unlimited users), calls use 3 credits a minute, and extra usage is billed at your plan's credit rate so the phones are never cut off. Data is stored in the UK, the platform processes data under UK GDPR with a data processing agreement for each clinic and security aligned to ISO 27001, and patient data is not used to train AI models.
Disclosure: Motics is our product and this page lives on our site. Every competitor fact is taken from the competitor's own website or help centre, read on 10 October 2026, and anything we couldn't find there is marked "not published" rather than guessed.

Aeva is an AI receptionist for physio, chiro, osteo, podiatry, massage, acupuncture and psychology clinics. It answers around the clock, books and changes appointments directly in the PMS with an SMS confirmation, recognises returning patients, handles overflow with warm transfers or messages, escalates emergencies and takes deposits. Each tier includes the same allowance of outbound calls plus unlimited web chat.
Its pricing is volume-based with no per-practitioner or per-location charge, no setup fee and no minimum term. The contact address on its site is in Auckland, New Zealand; it doesn't publish a UK address. The main thing for a UK clinic to resolve is data location, because its Cliniko listing and its privacy policy describe it differently.

How we chose
Every fact about Aeva on this page was read from that vendor's own website, pricing page, help centre or vendor-supplied marketplace listing on 10 October 2026; the sources list below links each page. Where a vendor doesn't publish something (a price, VAT treatment, a certification, where data is hosted), we say "not published" instead of estimating it. Prices are quoted as the vendor states them; we haven't converted other currencies. Motics prices come from our own pricing page and are ex VAT.
Motics is our product. Each product gets a review card: Motics with its strengths and limitations, and the other vendor with its published features and limitations. Vendors change prices and features, so check their pages before you buy. If you spot anything inaccurate, contact us and we'll correct it. Frequently asked questions
How much does Aeva cost in the UK?
Aeva's pricing page, with GBP selected, lists monthly tiers by call volume: 100 calls £139, 200 calls £199, 350 calls £299 and 500 calls £399, with £1.70 per call over the allowance. Each tier includes the same allowance of outbound calls and unlimited web chat. The page doesn't say whether VAT is included. Checked 10 October 2026.
Is Motics cheaper than Aeva?
For short calls, usually. Motics bills call minutes at 3 credits a minute, roughly 33p to 42p a minute on monthly list prices, while Aeva's tiers work out at about 80p to £1.39 a call whatever the length, with outbound calls and web chat included. If you also pay for a scribe, include it: the Motics Team plan covers notes and phones from one pool. Use the calculator on the pricing page to model your own call volume.
Where does Aeva store patient data?
Aeva's Cliniko listing says data is stored on encrypted servers in Australia. Its privacy policy, updated 22 June 2026, says data processing occurs primarily in US cloud environments and names Microsoft Azure for call recordings and Anthropic and OpenAI for AI processing. Ask Aeva which applies to UK clinics and get it in the data processing agreement. Motics stores patient data in the UK.
Which practice management systems do Motics and Aeva support?
Both book into Cliniko and Nookal. Aeva also lists Splose and PracSuite. Motics also integrates with Meddbase. Neither lists TM3, Semble or WriteUpp booking on its site.
Does Aeva make outbound calls?
Yes. Each Aeva tier includes outbound calls with the same allowance as inbound, used for things like rebooking. Motics' Phone Agent is focused on inbound calls: answering, booking, summarising, transferring and alerting your team.
How long does Aeva keep call recordings?
Aeva's privacy policy says call recordings are deleted upon subscription cancellation, so they're kept for as long as you subscribe unless you agree otherwise. Ask any vendor for a defined retention period that matches your records policy.
Can I switch from Aeva to Motics?
Yes. Your appointments live in your PMS, not the receptionist, so switching mostly means moving call forwarding and recreating your call rules: opening hours, services, transfer rules and urgent-call handling. Run the new receptionist on overflow first, then move your main line once you're happy.
