Lyngo is an Australian-built AI receptionist for allied health, listed in Cliniko as Able AI Receptionist by Lyngo. It charges per call, from £69 a month ex VAT for 45 calls. Motics is a UK clinic AI suite whose Phone Agent uses per-minute credits from one pool that also covers notes, email and billing. For UK private clinics, Motics is the stronger fit: patient data stays in the UK, it adds Meddbase booking, and phones and notes share one plan.

If you've seen "Able AI Receptionist" in Cliniko's connected apps and "Lyngo" in a search result, they're the same thing. Cliniko's directory lists the app as Able AI Receptionist with Lyngo as the developer. Lyngo's own website and help centre don't mention the Able name, and we found nothing on them describing a rebrand. Lyngo says it operates in Australia, the UK, New Zealand, Ireland, Canada and Malta, with offices in Sydney and London.
Per call or per minute: the pricing difference that matters
Lyngo charges per answered call: a monthly plan includes a number of calls (45 on Starter up to 500 on Scale) and each extra call costs £0.90 to £1.50. Only inbound calls longer than 10 seconds count, and a call can last as long as it needs to. Allowances don't roll over.
Motics doesn't charge per call. Calls draw 3 credits a minute from the clinic's shared pool. On list prices a credit costs about 11p to 14p (Team £49 per clinician buys 352 credits, Scale £145 per clinician buys 1,320, extra credits £0.13 to £0.14), which works out at roughly 33p to 42p per call minute billed monthly, and less with the 15% annual discount. So a three-minute call costs roughly £1.00 to £1.26 on Motics, about the same as a Lyngo overage call. Short booking calls usually cost less on Motics, and the credits you don't spend on phones go to notes, email and billing instead.
Which Motics plan fits
Free (£0): 25 credits a month for Scribe and Chat, no card required, around 1 Scribe note or 10 chats a day. The way to try Motics for clinical notes before you add the phones.
Starter (£19 a month ex VAT): 110 credits for a solo clinician, around 5 Scribe notes or 50 chats a day, no contract. Scribe and Chat only.
Team (from £98 a month ex VAT: £49 per clinician, minimum two): the plan where the Phone Agent starts. 352 credits per clinician, plus the Email and Billing agents, unlimited users and one shared clinic credit pool. Calls use 3 credits a minute.
Scale (from £290 a month ex VAT: £145 per clinician, minimum two): 1,320 credits per clinician for busier clinics, plus the Audit agent and compliance workflows, clinic usage analytics, priority support and guided onboarding.
Enterprise (custom): for multi-site groups, with SSO and advanced roles, and procurement and security review.
What the comparison shows: Motics keeps patient data in the UK, while Lyngo's sub-processor list names Australia for hosting and the United States for AI processing. Motics books into Cliniko, Nookal and Meddbase, and one credit pool covers Scribe, Phone, Email and Billing, with unlimited users on Team and Scale and no per-seat fees. Start on the free plan for notes, then size a Team pool for your call volume with the calculator on the pricing page.
Check before you sign: ask any AI receptionist vendor where call audio and transcripts are stored, how long they're kept, and which sub-processors handle them. Lyngo publishes a sub-processor list; record the answer in your DPIA either way.

Motics Phone Agent
That’s us
Best for
UK private and allied-health clinics that want phones answered and booked, with notes, email and billing on the same credit pool and UK-hosted data
Pricing
Phone Agent from Team: from £98/month ex VAT (£49 per clinician, minimum two). Calls use 3 credits a minute from a shared pool; extra usage at £0.14 a credit (about 42p a minute) on Team.
Motics is a UK-built clinic AI suite. The Phone Agent answers calls 24/7 on your existing number, books into your diary in Cliniko, Nookal or Meddbase, summarises every call, transfers complex calls to your team and alerts you to urgent ones. The same plan and credit pool also run the Scribe Agent (clinical notes), Email and Billing agents, and on Scale the Audit agent that reviews clinical notes for quality and CQC readiness.
Pricing is credit-based rather than per call: the Phone Agent comes with the Team plan (from £98 a month ex VAT: £49 per clinician, minimum two, unlimited users), calls use 3 credits a minute, and extra usage is billed at your plan's credit rate so the phones are never cut off. Data is stored in the UK, the platform processes data under UK GDPR with a data processing agreement for each clinic and security aligned to ISO 27001, and patient data is not used to train AI models.
Disclosure: Motics is our product and this page lives on our site. Every competitor fact is taken from the competitor's own website or help centre, read on 10 October 2026, and anything we couldn't find there is marked "not published" rather than guessed.

Lyngo is an AI receptionist built in Australia for physio, chiro, osteo, podiatry, psychology and other allied-health clinics. It answers 24/7, books, reschedules and cancels in the PMS, transfers urgent or clinical calls with a summary or takes a message, and covers lunch, busy periods and after hours. It offers a choice of accents, and outbound rebooking is listed with some features marked coming soon.
Its pricing is per answered call, with unlimited minutes per call, an SMS allowance on every plan, free setup and no lock-in. For a UK clinic the practical checks are data location (Lyngo's sub-processor list names Australia for hosting and storage and the US for AI processing) and certifications, which it doesn't publish beyond GDPR and privacy-law badges.

How we chose
Every fact about Lyngo on this page was read from that vendor's own website, pricing page, help centre or vendor-supplied marketplace listing on 10 October 2026; the sources list below links each page. Where a vendor doesn't publish something (a price, VAT treatment, a certification, where data is hosted), we say "not published" instead of estimating it. Prices are quoted as the vendor states them; we haven't converted other currencies. Motics prices come from our own pricing page and are ex VAT.
Motics is our product. Each product gets a review card: Motics with its strengths and limitations, and the other vendor with its published features and limitations. Vendors change prices and features, so check their pages before you buy. If you spot anything inaccurate, contact us and we'll correct it. Product names are trademarks of their owners; Motics is not affiliated with or endorsed by any vendor named here.
Frequently asked questions
Is Able AI Receptionist the same as Lyngo?
Yes. Cliniko's connected-apps directory lists "Able AI Receptionist — by Lyngo" with Lyngo as the app developer. Lyngo's own website and help centre use the Lyngo name only, so search for Lyngo when you look for pricing and policies.
How much does Lyngo cost in the UK?
Lyngo's pricing page shows GBP ex VAT when you switch currency: Starter £69 a month (45 calls), Growth £125 (100 calls), Pro £199 (200 calls) and Scale £450 (500 calls), with extra calls at £1.50, £1.25, £1.00 and £0.90 respectively. Enterprise is custom. Prices checked on 10 October 2026.
Is Motics cheaper than Lyngo?
It depends on call length and what else you pay for. Motics bills call minutes at 3 credits a minute, roughly 33p to 42p a minute on monthly list prices; Lyngo bills per answered call, from £69 a month for 45 calls, whatever the call length. Short booking calls usually cost less on Motics, and if you also pay for an AI scribe, the Motics Team plan covers notes and phones from one pool. Use the calculator on the pricing page to model your own call volume.
Where does Lyngo store UK patient data?
Lyngo's sub-processor article lists Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud, with hosting and storage in Australia and AI processing in the United States. It doesn't publish a UK hosting option. Motics stores patient data in the UK. Record the transfer arrangements for any AI receptionist in your DPIA.
Which PMS systems do Motics and Lyngo book into?
Both book into Cliniko and Nookal. Lyngo also lists PracSuite and Splose. Motics also integrates with Meddbase. If you're on TM3, Semble, WriteUpp or Jane, neither lists a booking integration for that system on its site.
Can an AI receptionist transfer calls to my team?
Both do. Lyngo transfers urgent or clinical calls with a summary or takes a message; Motics transfers complex calls to your team and alerts you to urgent ones. Decide in advance which call types should always reach a person, such as clinical concerns, complaints or safeguarding, and set the rules during onboarding.
Can I try Motics before committing?
Yes. Motics has a free plan for Scribe and Chat with no card required, and paid plans have no contract, so you can run the Phone Agent on Team for a month and cancel if it isn't right. Lyngo offers 14 days free with free setup. Test any AI receptionist on a week of your real calls and check how many were booked without staff help.
